Hello, my name is Rob and I have been in the information technology field for well over 25 years. I have a masters degree in information systems and have worked for Fortune 50 companies as well as mom and pop shops. I love technology, although nothing comes easy to me…I have to spend time learning things, but I enjoy it immensely. My plan is to provide some quick tips and things I have learned over the years, maybe even do a review of some certification exams I have taken recently to help you study.
I enjoy working with Linux and MacOS specifically even though I have spent the majority of my career supporting Windows (yuck!). The first post that I am working on will involve an open source digital signage system called Concerto. It isn’t actively being developed any longer but it so well done that it’s great for small companies with the need for digital signage, I have even setup a Raspberry Pi running an instance of it at my home and use it to power a home made digital frame. Be on the lookout for that soon!
The things I am focusing on learning more about now are Raspberry Pi’s, more advanced Linux concepts, developing a solid grasp of Python, and shell scripting for practical purposes. I hope I can share some of what I have learned with you! More to come and thanks for stopping by!
Thanks,
Rob
